Saturday 13th May was a day of rejoicing around the world at the Canonisation of the Francisco and Jacinto, two of the three child visionaries of Fatima. Pope Francis declared them saints during a Mass with an attendance of more than 500,000.

The day was marked at Carfin with a Mass of Thanksgiving in the parish Church at lunchtime. Around 300 people attended the celebration. (See photo)

In the evening Bishop John Keenan of Paisley Diocese led a Solemn Torchlight Procession, followed by Holy Mass in the Parish Church. More than 500 people were in attendance.
