It has now been confirmed that Carfin Grotto will host
the relics of St Bernadette from 24th September until
2nd October 2022, the only Scottish venue to receive
the relics. This will coincide with the centenary of the
Grotto on 2nd October. I am hopeful also that all the
bishops of Scotland along with the Papal Nuncio will
celebrate the centenary with us. I asked the Bishops’
Conference of Scotland to formally and officially de-
clare the Grotto to be‘The National Marian Shrine of
Scotland’.They will do so at the centenary Mass.
