Welcome to Father Mark O’Donnell who will be with us for the next six Sundays.
Congratulations to him on his recent Ordination to the Priesthood in his home parish of Saint Thomas’, Wishaw. I am sure that you will make Father O’Donnell very welcome and give him every assistance and encouragement. The Bishop has sent him here to allow me to dedicate more of my time to preparing for the arrival of the Relics of Saint Thérèse at the end of August. There is a long-standing tradition for newly ordained priests to offer an individual blessing to anyone who would wish to receive it – I am sure Father O’Donnell will want to offer this after each of the Sunday Masses this weekend.
He will be making a visitation of the sick of the Parish this week, as well as hearing Confessions over the next few weeks – this will give you an opportunity to experience a different confessor.
