The underground Bethlehem Shrine is situated in the bottom right corner of the Grotto to the left of the shrine of St Francis of Assisi and the Chapel of the Angels. The cave which depicts the scene of Christ's Nativity was built in the 1920's however for over the last thiry years it has been closed. Following renovation and the donation of a new set of statues, the Shrine was reopened on Pentecost Sunday, 24th May 2015.
